2020 BMW 7 Series Interior Exterior Design Introduction

The world premiere for the new BMW 7 Series: Premium car maker BMW sharpens the profile of its flagship luxury class models.

The new exterior design offers significantly more assets and stylish precision. New interior designs create an elegant and good ambience, further enhancing long-distance comfort.

Exterior Design

A new, striking and highly prestigious look thanks to its 50 millimeter-long front end. New BMW kidney grille with one-piece surround and about 40 percent larger surface area.



Optionally with BMW Laserlight, the more refined headlamp units. The outside air now comes with wide, painted plates and striking chrome plating strips.

Vertical Air Vents on the front side panels bring extra precision, clarity and stability to the sides of the car. The side trim strips now extend to the rear apron.

Interior Design

A comprehensive redesigned backend. The rear apron contours adopt the design language of the front air intake trim. Integrated exhaust exhaust pipe surrounding the chrome. New, three-dimensional and 35-millimeter thin rear lights with a red, black finish.

The sharply defined, very thin strip of light (six millimeters wide) provides extra stylistic development under the chrome bar between the rear lights.
Expanded exterior paint and light alloy wheels. Pure Excellence and M Sport package for exterior and interior design provides scope for personalization. Extended BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line is now available.

Stylish sophistication for the interior. Expanded quilted new Nappa leather upholstery, new thin wood interior trim strips and the Ambient accent in the appearance of smoked glass create a harmoniously crafted, luxurious setting. Leather steering wheel with optimized layout of the multifunction buttons. Repositioned tray for wireless charging of mobile phones. BMW Touch Command with advanced hardware and software. Full HD touch screen rear seat entertainment system.

Advanced acoustic features optimize long-distance travel comfort: improved sound insulation for rear wheel arches, B-pillars and rear seat belt outlet covers and for side windows and rear window (acoustic glass).

Updated sequence of engines. All variables comply with the Euro 6d-TEMP exhaust standard. The V12 engine in the BMW M760Li xDrive (combined fuel consumption: 12.5 - 12.4 l / 100 km; CO 2 emissions combined: 285 - 282 g / km) with the gasoline particle filter now. ; - Fuel consumption of 9.5 l / 100 km 9.5, BMW 750i xDrive 390 kW / 530 hp 60 kW / 80 hp with upgraded maximum output new V8 engine 2 and: - 217 217 g / km emission Combined) BMW 750Li xDrive ( fuel consumption: 9,6-9,5 l / 100 km, CO 2 Combined emission: 218-218 g / km). Also available: Three diesel engines with up to four turbochargers and outputs ranging from 195 kW / 265 hp to 294 kW / 400 hp.

The new hybrid versions of the BMW 7 Series are now available with a specially adapted six-cylinder in-line petrol engine and an upgraded high-voltage battery. In SPORT mode, the system output has been increased to a maximum of 290 kW / 394 ps. Electricity range increased from 50 to 58 kilometers (31 to 36 miles).

The advanced chassis technology provides an exceptional balance between luxury driving comfort and the dynamic talent of BMW. Standardized suspension and two-axle air suspension. It is available as an option with Active Roll Stabilized Integral Active Steering and Executive Drive Pro (not available for plug-in hybrid models). BMW M760Li xDrive and model-specific chassis-tuned hybrid variants.
Further progress towards automatic driving. Extremely wide drive support systems. Professional Driving Assistant with steering and stripe control assistant. The standard equipped Parking Assist is now also equipped with a Reverse Assistance Assistant.

The standard BMW Live Cockpit Professional with navigation system is a fully digital, 12.3-inch dashboard and features a 10.25-inch Control Display with consistent, modern graphics. The new BMW Operating System 7.0 provides extremely fast access to settings and functions, customizable displays and multimodal operation via the touch screen, iDrive Controller, steering wheel buttons, volume control and motion control.

In the new BMW 7 Series the iDrive operating system’s monitor comes in touch display form for the first time. This means customers will also be able to operate the system in the same way as modern electronic devices. In addition to using the Controller to control the system in familiar style, its functions can also be selected and activated by touching the screen’s surface.

Another new addition to the iDrive system’s functionality is BMW gesture control, which is being introduced for the first time. Hand movements detected by a 3D sensor control infotainment functions in an extremely intuitive and user-friendly fashion. The gestures can be used for a number of functions, including controlling the volume in audio applications and accepting or rejecting incoming telephone calls. There is also the option of pairing a specific gesture with an individual choice of function. Also joining the fray is a new smartphone holder integrated into the centre console, which allows wireless, inductive charging for mobile phones for the first time in a car.

The BMW 750Li xDrive, BMW 740Li, BMW 730Ld and BMW 730Ld xDrive models specified with the optional Executive Lounge, which redefines personal well-being in a luxury car, offer levels of comfort a class apart. This equipment package includes Automatic air conditioning with 4-zone control, Electrically adjustable comfort seats with massage function in the rear and Active seat ventilation for all seats, plus the optional Executive Lounge Seating, Executive Lounge rear console and Rear-seat entertainment Experience with BMW Touch Command. The massage function now also includes the Vitality Programme, which allows rear passengers to engage in active physical exercise for recuperation purposes. The Executive Lounge Seating option increases comfort in the rear seat behind the front passenger seat, which can slide forward by an additional 90 millimetres and has an electrically extendable footrest integrated into its backrest. The rear passenger can unwind into an extremely relaxing position thanks to a backrest which can recline impressively close to the horizontal position.

The Executive Lounge rear console houses a fold-out table, additional cupholders and the Touch Command system. This removable 7-inch tablet computer allows the user to control the infotainment and comfort functions available in the rear of the new BMW 7 Series and can also be used to play back external audio and video files, as a games console or to surf the internet.

The exclusive ambience inside the new BMW 7 Series is also enhanced by a precisely arranged lighting design. The Ambient light option now includes the Welcome Light Carpet, which provides eye-catching illumination of the area around the car doors. Another unique feature is the Ambient highlight for the long-wheelbase versions of the new BMW 7 Series, which bathes the rear compartment in an atmospheric light from light sources positioned vertically on the B-pillars.
Another option customers can select to increase the feeling of well-being on board is the Ambient Air package, which ionises the air and generates a selection of eight aromas. Outstanding sound quality, meanwhile, is the speciality of the likewise newly developed Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, which has been specifically tuned to the interior of the new BMW 7 Series.
