2020 Volkswagen Passat R Line Interior Exterior Design Introduction

Interior Exterior Design

The 2020 Volkswagen Passat Rline was completely replaced, while maintaining the basics of the previous model.

The dynamic coupe-like roofline, the dramatic and hurricane at line and the dominant grille give the Passat an elegant and sporty look at the same time. The standard slim LED headlights and taillights, and the more obvious Passat badge that exceeds the width of the trunklid, give the car a superior appearance. The 17-inch standard aluminum alloy wheels reinforce the sophisticated design and are available in 18 and 19-inch wheels.

The new Passat offers a comprehensive standard and current driver assistance technology package. Each Passat now includes standard Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking (Preliminary Help) with Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Traffic Alert along with Pedestrian Tracking. Available driver assistance features include: Adaptive Speed Control (ACC); Lane Keeping Aid (Lane Helper), which can actively assist the driver in orienting the car again towards the lane when the vehicle starts to be dragged to another lane without using the turn signal; and Parking Guidance Assistant (Parking Assistance) including Parking Distance Control. In addition, the Passat offers a combination of both passive and active safety systems, including the Auto-Collision Brake System.

The new Passat is powered by the 2.0-liter turbocharged and direct-injection TSI® engine from Volkswagen that produces 174 horsepower. A new torque converter combined with new software increases output up to torque of 207 pounds feet in most models (the launch train will carry the previous model's power train). Power is supplied to the front wheels via the Tiptronic® with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Each Passat model comes with the People First Warranty, America's Best Bumper-Bumper Limited Warranty. The warranty provides coverage for six years or 72,000 miles (whichever comes first) and the warranty may be transferred to a subsequent owner for the remaining period.
