The New 2014 Honda CB1100 EX Features, and Promotional video

bikes like the CB500 Four, CB750F, CB900F and the very special CB1100R
The New 2014 Honda CB1100 EX Features, and Promotional video
In development of the original CB1100, Honda's engineers referenced and rode bikes like the CB500 Four, CB750F, CB900F and the very special CB1100R at the Honda Collection Hall* at Motegi. The CB1100 EX's new lines and details further builds on elements drawn from those seminal motorcycles.

The bike's redesigned, larger capacity fuel tank, seat, sidepanels, passenger grab handle and raised headlight position all came out of time spent with bikes from Honda's more recent four-cylinder history, while wire-spoke wheels are an effective -- and stylish -- reference even further back in time. The 4-2-1 exhaust of the CB1100 has been replaced by a double-skinned 4-2-2 system.

A steel double cradle frame houses the CB1100 EX's 1,140cc inline four-cylinder engine, with 41mm conventional telescopic forks and twin rear shocks providing compliant and finely tuned suspension. The riding position is unchanged: upright and relaxed.

For 2014 perhaps the most important addition is a six-speed gearbox, making for more relaxed cruising. New instrumentation within the evocative twin circular analogue dials includes a gear position indicator as well as back-calculating trip computer. Revised indicators round out the updates.

Yamaha 2014 V Star 950 Walkaround Features, and Promotional video

appealing to seasoned riders as well as those looking for a friendly entry-level cruiser
Yamaha 2014 V Star 950 Walkaround Features, and Promotional video
V Star 950 is the benchmark in the entry cruiser class, appealing to seasoned riders as well as those looking for a friendly entry-level cruiser. The air-cooled V-twin delivers plenty of distinctive, big-cruiser character and pulsing torque feel. Seat height is an extra-low 26.6 inches. The full-sized chassis has a long, low look and provides spacious comfort. Handling is sporty and responsive, great for curvy back roads and commuting around town as well as open-highway cruising.

The 942cc 60° V-twin engine is both simple and sophisticated. Sure, there’s no-fuss air cooling for traditional looks. But inside you’ll find the reason for the surprisingly spirited performance: four-valve cylinder heads, ceramic-composite-lined cylinders, forged aluminum pistons, and fuel injection. The meticulously tuned 2-into-1 exhaust system has a throaty exhaust note, and also 3-way catalyst technology to reduce air pollution.

The carefully designed chassis contributes to an exceptionally light feeling riders are sure to appreciate. The double-cradle steel main frame offers an ideal rigidity balance in the longitudinal, lateral, and torsional directions, using the engine as a stressed member. With the engine mounting position slightly forward for optimum front-rear weight distribution and its large, 18-inch front wheel, V Star 950 has outstanding handling performance.

The V Star 950 achieves fuel economy up to an estimated 47 mpg* with a fuel tank that holds 4.5 gallons of gas.
Fenders are real steel, front and rear. That adds to the quality look and feel, and makes customization easier.

The new 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 Features, and Promotional video

to truly go head-to-head with Europe’s finest over the past couple of years
The new 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 Features, and Promotional video
Kawasaki’s current Z1000 has been one of the only Japanese nakeds to truly go head-to-head with Europe’s finest over the past couple of years. The Z’s awesome all-around performance has had us smitten since the bike won Cycle World Best Standard honors in 2010, the year of its last major redesign. A stomping 1043cc inline-four, radical styling, and sweet-handling chassis was the recipe for success. But Kawasaki has thrown a bunch of upgrades at the bike for 2014 in an effort to keep pace in a highly competitive market segment occupied by KTM’s 1290 Super Duke R, Aprilia’s Tuono V4, Ducati’s Streetfighter and MV Agusta’s Rivale.

It’s obvious that Kawasaki took the already radical styling to a new level. Press materials refer to “Sugomi” styling, a Japanese word that means “Someone, or something inspiring awe, leaving an indelible impression, daunting in stature or ability, and commanding respect.”

Okay, whatever you call it, beyond the styling changes, the engine has been worked over with the same alterations recently unveiled on the Ninja 1000. This means there are new intake cams, revised velocity stacks and more aggressive ECU settings for improved throttle response and more bottom-to-midrange power. Shorter final-drive gearing should provide better acceleration, while a taller sixth gear helps retain highway-cruising manners.
