Volvo Polestar 1 Carbon fiber supported vehicle introduction prototype production and test drive

Polestar is Volvo Car Group's new electric performance brand. With Volvo Cars, Polestar will enjoy certain technological and engineering synergies and benefit from significant economies of scale as a result of its connection with Volvo Cars.

These synergies enable the design, development and production of separate-brand, high-performance electric cars.

Polestar begins this new era with a low-volume Electric Performance Hybrid GT with a power of 600 hp, 1,000 Nm, and a 150-kilometer electric range Polestar 1, the longest hybrid car in the world.

In the future, Polestar 2 and Polestar 3 will join the portfolio as full-battery electrical, high-volume, driver-oriented vehicles.

Polestar also applies its technology and expertise to electric Volvo cars. The new Volvo S60 T8 Polestar Engineered has important Polestar components to create a sharper and more engaging driving experience. Polestar optimization software updates are also available for Volvo models that increase six performance areas, including engine production.

Bir Polestar is a worldwide brand since the first day of its activity in the world's most important automobile markets (Europe, China and North America). For this reason, we will open Polestar Spaces in the US cities to demand. We are also developing a new Polestar North American organization to meet the demands of this important market, ini explains Thomas Ingenlath.

Polestar's acceleration is increasing following its launch as a new electric performance brand. The company's first car, Polestar 1, was announced as a 600-hp Electric Performance Hybrid in October 2017, but has the longest range of pure electricity from any hybrid in the world. Polestar 1 will start production in the new Polestar Production Center, which is about to be completed in mid-2019. The first full year of production has already been sold, and now there are 200 vehicles produced for North American customers.

The brand's second car, the Polestar 2, was designed to be the company's first fully electric electric vehicle and compete with the Tesla Model 3. Polestar 2 will be available in 2019 and will start after one year.
