The SX50 is a point and shoot digital camera for someone who is interested in possibly making the move to a DSLR camera but not yet ready to fully make the jump. This camera has a 50x optical zoom which is the biggest optical zoom you will see in a point and shoot under 500. It also has full HD 1080p resolution when recording video. However make sure to lock in your zoom before beginning video since you cannot change the zoom when recording.
