2020 Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo 300 d crystal white metallic - Exterior Interior Driving

exterior design

The style and value appeal of the V-Class lead the way in the segment. The designers in Stuttgart have used a series of targeted measures to give the MPV a new look which follows the design idiom of the current Mercedes-Benz passenger cars.

The new V-Class has a broader appearance and an even stronger visual presence thanks to its new front end.

This comes courtesy of a new bumper design with striking cooling air inlets and a new diamond structure in the radiator grille.

The Mercedes star is positioned centrally in the radiator grille and framed by two slats in silver.

interior cockpit design

The personalisation concept with the attractive AVANTGARDE and EXCLUSIVE lines and various design packages is retained, while the AMG Line becomes visually more striking with the facelift: it features a new diamond radiator grille with chrome pins, and thus delivers a particularly sporty note.

New paint colours in graphite grey metallic and selenite grey metallic expand the spectrum of popular black/white tones.

Equally new is the steel blue paint finish. With the new, optional colour hyacinth red metallic, the new V-Class also makes an especially emotive statement. At the same time, four new light-alloy wheel designs ensure a striking, avantgarde appearance. They include 5-twin-spoke 17-inch light-alloy wheels painted in black with a high-sheen finish as well as 18-inch light-alloy wheels in tremolite grey with a high-sheen finish and 5-twin-spoke design, or in black with a high-sheen finish and 5-spoke design. Mercedes-Benz Engine

By way of contrast, the new radiator grille with the classic twin louvres and the AMG Line front apron with flics on the air inlets are typical distinctive features of the CLA 35 4MATIC.

Other distinctive features include trim elements in silver chrome on the louvres in the outer air inlets. From a side view, the aerodynamically optimised 18-inch light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design (19-inch optionally available) and the accentuated side sill panels catch the eye.

The rear view is dominated by the rear apron with a new diffuser insert, the small spoiler lip on the boot and the two round tailpipe trims on the left and right. The two-piece, narrow tail lamps and the number plate housed in the bumper make the rear of the CLA look especially wide.

Sporty interior with MBUX infotainment system

Frameless doors open to an interior with a high-tech ambience where quality and elegance meet fully digital displays. This interior optionally stages the ambient lighting in 64 colours.

Another characteristic feature are the seat covers which are available in ARTICO man-made leather with DINAMICA microfibre in black with red contrasting stitching and red seat belts or in ARTICO mad-made leather in black/digital grey.

Red piping on the microfibre DINAMICA trim element and ventilation nozzles with a red ring add further accents.

The agile high torque 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine delivers 225 kW (306 hp), which is variably distributed to all four wheels via the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and the all-wheel drive.

The sporty driving performance (acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds) is linked with a wide spread of the driving experience - from very sporty to comfortable on long journeys.

2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class - Crash Tests and results *****

Crash Tests

Mercedes-Benz's rugged G-Series comes with a five-star rating with impressive performance in each of the four assessment areas.

Euro NCAP organizes crash tests on new vehicles and provides automobile consumers with a realistic and independent assessment of the safety performance of some of the most popular cars sold in Europe.

2020 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ SUV - Interior Exterior

Exterior design

Its centrepiece is the electrified 3.0-litre engine featuring twin-turbocharging and an electric auxiliary compressor.

The 6-cylinder in-line engine generates 320 kW (435 hp) and delivers maximum torque of 520 Nm. Its EQ Boost starter generator briefly provides an additional 16 kW of output plus 250 Nm of torque and additionally feeds the 48 V on-board electrical system.

Interior design

The EQ Boost starter-alternator combines a starter motor and alternator in a powerful electric motor and is fitted between the engine and transmission. This innovation as well as the intelligent charging via an electric auxiliary compressor and an exhaust gas turbocharger all have the same goal: to enhance the hallmark AMG performance and driving dynamics, but also to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. And this move has been a successful one: The GLE 53 4MATIC+ accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds and achieves an electronically limited speed of 250 km/h.

Mercedes engine

It really turns on the pressure: electric auxiliary compressor

The electric auxiliary compressor builds up a high level of boost pressure without any delays until the big exhaust gas turbocharger kicks in. As a result the 3.0-litre engine reacts extremely spontaneously and provides a dynamic response without turbo lag. An additional bonus is the high level of refinement of the six-cylinder in-line engine.

It will be electrifying: 48 V on-board electrical system

But the EQ Boost starter-alternator can do even more. It also provides the 48 V on-board electrical system with electricity. The conventional 12 V electrical system is likewise supplied from the new network – by means of a DC/DC converter. The 48 V battery increases the overall battery capacity in the vehicle, which allows supplying more electrical energy. An additional advantage: the same power requires only a quarter of the current of a conventional system. The result is that the wiring can be thinner and therefore lighter, which indirectly contributes to saving fuel. The existing 12 V system supplies power to consumers such as lights, cockpit, infotainment displays and control units.

It also does hybrid: EQ Boost starter-alternator

The EQ Boost starter generator is a key component of the 48 V system and not only serves as an alternator, but is also responsible for hybrid functions. This allows fuel savings that were previously reserved for high-voltage hybrid technology. For the first time, the EQ Boost starter-alternator is also responsible for idle speed control.

The hybrid functions include boost with 16 kW of output and 250 Nm of torque, energy recovery, shifting of the load point, gliding mode and the virtually imperceptible restarting of the engine with the start/stop function.

The most powerful engine is the six-cylinder petrol unit. The new systematic electric six-cylinder in-line engine with EQ Boost (integrated starter alternator) and 48 V internal electric system now powers the CLS 450 4MATIC (fuel consumption, combined: 8.0-7.8 l / 100 km, combined CO) 2 emissions: 184-178 g / km 2. Performance data: 270 kW / 367 hp and 500 Nm plus 250 Nm torque and 16 kW / 22 hp can be used in a short time with EQ Boost. The integrated electric motor, known as EQ Boost, helps the combustion engine; For example, when accelerating, it allows driving without a combustion engine ("slip") and provides power to the battery through high efficiency recovery. By doing this, it enables fuel savings, which are the sole domain of high-voltage hybrid technology. Ultimately, the new six-cylinder in-line engine delivers the performance of an eight-cylinder engine with significantly lower consumption. The CLS 450 4MATIC is equipped with a particulate filter as standard.
