Collision Reduction Brake System ™ (CMBS ™) rated "Superior" for Pedestrian Detection and Crash Prevention
Previous IIHS tests, Collision Prevention and Reduction for Honda Sensing "Superior" featured CR-V
Based on the current Honda Sensing® safety package and the new test of the CR-V, the Honda CR-V used for the 2018 and 2019 model years received the highest pedestrian detection and crash prevention rating of the "Superior" Road Safety Insurance Institute (IIHS). Award-winning Collision Reduction Brake System (CMBS ™) containing drive assistive technologies. In previous tests conducted by IIHS, the CMBS of CR-V was rated 'Superior' for Collision Prevention and Reduction.
"IIHS 'pedestrian collision testing can be frustrating to monitor because it is set to look like a collision with a pedestrian. The tests highlight the need to consider the safety of all road users when designing advanced safety systems, such as those on the road," says Honda Sensing®. "We have sold about 1.8 million Honda vehicles in the US with Honda Sensing, which is the implementation of these important technologies," said Jay Joseph, vice president of product planning at American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
