Significantly more grounded visual separation on account of new structure language Incredible and proficient: Twin-turbo V6 with 331 kW (450 metric hp) and 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft) of torque MMI contact: New working framework and new RS-explicit showcases
The front area of the new RS 4 Avant was totally overhauled. The RS 4 Avant contrasts extensively from the A4 Avant. The Singleframe is more extensive and compliment when contrasted with the base model.
Much the same as its huge RS siblings, the RS 6 Avant (joined fuel utilization in l/100 km: 11.7–11.5 (20.1 – 20.5 US mpg); consolidated CO2 emanations in g/km: 268–283 (431.3–455.4 g/mi)) and the RS 7 Sportback (joined fuel utilization in l/100 km: 11.6–11.4 (20.3–20.6 US mpg); joined CO2 discharges in g/km: 265–261 (426.5–420.0 g/mi)), the RS 4 Avant likewise includes the three-dimensional honeycomb structure in gleam dark that is average for the RS model arrangement.
To give it a spotless look, the Singleframe is structured without a casing. The new eggcrate grille with the RS 4 token is embedded legitimately into the guard with the huge sidelong air bays and vertical folds.
The state of the LED headlights of the RS 4 Avant has likewise been upgraded. The discretionary grid LED headlights with obscured bezels complete the updated appearance of the elite Avant and separate it inside the A4 family.
The wheel curves with the quattro rankles situated above are every 30 millimeters (1.2 in) more extensive at the front and back when contrasted with the Audi A4 Avant.
Sparkle dark structure components situated ideal by the headlights underline the impact of width of the new RS 4 Avant (joined fuel utilization in l/100 km: 9,2 (25.6 US mpg); consolidated CO2 discharges in g/km: 211-210 (339.6-338 g/mi)).
The sparkle dark, matt aluminum and carbon styling bundles add individual accents to the trim in the ledge, the outside mirror lodgings and the front and back guards.
Upon solicitation, the gleam dark and carbon styling bundles additionally incorporate the Audi rings and the RS logo in dark on the front and back. The RS identifications can be overlooked totally for a progressively downplayed look. The rooftop rails are structured in matt dark as standard.
The RS-explicit rooftop edge spoiler and the diffuser addition just as the chrome tailpipes of the RS exhaust framework give the vehicle an unmistakable completion. The discretionary RS game fumes framework with dark tailpipe trims makes an especially lively stable involvement. The driver can choose whether they need a lively or stifled sound through the Audi drive select unique dealing with framework.
Full tractive power: the drive
With the 2.9 TFSI twin-turbo V6, Audi Sport GmbH is expanding on the incredible 2.7 liter V6 of the main RS 4 Avant from 1999. In those days, the twin-turbo V6 had a power yield of 279 kW (380 metric hp). The new RS 4 Avant now yields 331 kW (450 metric hp), which equivalents a yield of 155.5 metric hp per liter. This permits the RS 4 Avant to quicken from zero to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in simply 4.1 seconds. The TFSI motor gauges only 182 kilograms (401.2 lb), which is 31 kilograms (68.3 lb) not exactly the V8 motor in the antecedent model from 2012.
This advantages the gross weight and the pivot load appropriation—two essentials for the great execution. The twin-turbo V6 applies an amazing 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft) of torque to the crankshaft in a wide motor speed go from 1,900 to 5,000 rpm. The RS dynamic bundle expands the electronically administered top speed from 250 to 280 km/h (155.3 to 174.0 mph).
The two turbochargers of the 2.9 TFSI are each doled out to a chamber bank and develop a lift weight of up to 1.5 bar. Like with all V6 and V8 motors from Audi, the turbochargers are introduced inside the 90-degree inside "V" of the chamber banks, and subsequently the fumes side of the chamber heads is within, while the admission side is outwardly of the motor.
This format empowers minimized development and short gas stream ways with insignificant stream misfortunes, permitting the 2.9 TFSI to react especially precipitously to development of the quickening agent pedal.
The high-yield V6 dazzles with its solid execution as well as with its significant level of effectiveness. In the new WLTP driving cycle, it expends simply 9.2 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (25.6 US mpg), which relates to 211 grams of CO2 for each kilometer (339.6 g/mi). This comprises an utilization decrease by 17 percent when contrasted with the past model. A definitive factor in this is the new TFSI burning procedure from Audi, which is known as the B-cycle.
It has been explicitly intended for the incomplete burden go, which is the prevalent working mode during typical use. On account of higher burdens and rotational velocities, the two-organize Audi valvelift framework (AVS) shuts the admission valves later, in this manner expanding the opening term to a wrench edge of 200 degrees. At the same time, valve lift increments from 6.0 to 10 millimeters (from 0.2 to 0.4 in). The chamber charge in this manner increments as needs be—the motor revs up capably and conveys a rich yield.
The intensity of the 2.9 TFSI streams to the quattro lasting all-wheel drive framework by means of the lively eight-speed tiptronic. In standard driving, the framework conveys more capacity to the back pivot. Its absolutely mechanical focus differential guides 60 percent of the torque to the back hub and 40 percent to the front.
On the off chance that undesired slip happens at one pivot, the majority of the power is consequently and quickly diverted to the next hub—up to 70 percent to the front or up to 85 percent to the back hub. The high bolting qualities empower a plainly characterized torque dissemination and profoundly exact communication with the control frameworks of the ESC and wheel-particular torque control.
Wheel-particular torque control is dynamic on a wide range of surfaces. When driving with an energetic style, it brakes the wheels within the bend somewhat by means of the Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC), along these lines expanding the drive torque on the wheels outwardly of the bend with the higher wheel load.
The distinction in drive powers transforms the vehicle into the twist, enabling the vehicle to pursue the directing point unequivocally. The outcome: exact, dexterous and impartial dealing with. The discretionary quattro sport differential with RS-explicit tuning guarantees a significantly progressively powerful reaction when quickening in corners. It conveys the torque between the back wheels effectively and in a focused on way, subsequently improving footing, security and elements. When turning or quickening in a bend, the torque is transcendently guided toward the back wheel outwardly of the bend—the vehicle is truly squeezed into the bend, dispensing with even the scarcest trace of understeer. If there should be an occurrence of oversteer, the game differential balances out the vehicle by guiding torque to the wheel within the bend.
Lively tuning: the suspension
The hub idea of the suspension with five-connect suspensions at the front and back empowers the ideal retention of longitudinal and horizontal powers. With the standard RS sport suspension, the Audi RS 4 Avant (consolidated fuel utilization in l/100 km: 9,2 (25.6 US mpg); joined CO2 discharges in g/km: 211-210 (339.6-338 g/mi)) is seven millimeters (0.3 in) lower than the S4 base model with game suspension.
The RS sport suspension in addition to with Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) empowers significantly increasingly light-footed dealing with and is accessible upon solicitation. This incorporated roll and pitch stabilizer comprises of a unique damper framework that checks the developments of the vehicle body with no postponement without the utilization of gadgets.
At the point when the vehicle is transforming into and going around a curve, the damper reaction is changed with the goal that the vehicle's developments around the longitudinal pivot (roll) and around the transverse hub (pitch) are altogether decreased. The dampers are each associated corner to corner to a focal valve by means of two separate oil lines. The valves give the fundamental remunerating volume by means of inner cylinders with the gas-filled compartment behind them.
At the point when the vehicle is controlling into and going around a curve, an oil stream is produced between the askew inverse dampers through the focal valve, in this manner making extra damping power. When one side is padded, the damping qualities are adjusted with the end goal that roll and pitch developments are nearly disposed of. Therefore, this profoundly responsive damper framework guarantees that the RS models are especially exact when arranging twists.
With the guide of Audi drive select, the driver can impact the damper reaction on three levels and in this manner customize the driving background. The new age of dampers with coordinated valve is increasingly smaller and lighter. Moreover, it empowers the damping powers to be spread significantly more generally between the solace and dynamic modes just as increasingly exact suspension modification for high damping powers, which happen when cornering at speed specifically.
The outcome: The RS sport suspension with Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) guarantees an especially happy with moving movement in the "comfort" setting. In the "dynamic" program, it conveys exceptionally tight driving accuracy notwithstanding when cornering at rapid.
RS-explicit unique directing is accessible as an option in contrast to the standard electromechanical power controlling. Dynamic controlling fluctuates the guiding proportion by up to 100 percent dependent on the driving rate, directing point and chose mode in the Audi drive select dealing with framework. At low driving velocities—in city traffic and in moving—the dynamic guiding works legitimately; everything necessary is two full turns of the controlling wheel to make a trip from end stop to end stop. The degree of intensity help is likewise high, making stopping moves a bit of cake. On nation streets, the explicitness of the controlling reaction and electric power help are diminished logically. When driving at high speeds on the roadway, the backhanded rigging proportion and low degree of intensity help smooth out jerky guiding developments and help with sure directional steadiness.
Dynamic controlling works intimately with the electronic adjustment control program (ESC) to accomplish lively taking care of and driving wellbeing. On the off chance that essential, it counter-directs marginally; its slight redresses, the vast majority of which are unnoticeable to the driver, diminish understeer and oversteer because of burden adjustments in by far most of circumstances. When braking on street surfaces with various grinding coefficients, the framework helps by methods for balancing out directing revisions.
The driver can make their own driving knowledge by means of the standard Audi drive select powerful dealing with framework. There are five profiles accessible: comfort, auto, dynamic and the adaptable, RS-explicit RS1 and RS2 modes.
The Audi drive select unique dealing with framework impacts the motor and transmission the board, the power directing, the suspension, the dynamic controlling, the quattro sport differential, the motor sound and the qualities of the programmed cooling. The adjustable RS2 mode exists explicitly to impact the Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC) rapidly at the push of a catch.
The new RS 4 Avant is production line furnished with 19-inch manufactured aluminum 265/35 wheels. Different 20-inch plans are accessible upon solicitation, including another completely processed five-arm wheel painted totally in matt bronze. It utilizes 275/30 tires. Amazing RS steel brakes with punctured composite circles guarantee sure deceleration conduct.
They have a width of 375 millimeters (14.8 in) at the front pivot and 330 millimeters (13.0 in) at the back hub. The six-cylinder brake calipers with RS logos are painted in dark, or alternatively in red. Upon solicitation, especially blur safe RS fired brakes work at the front hub. The calipers are accessible in red, dark and blue. Their punctured plates have a distance across of 400 millimeters (15.7 in).

Driven light aides follow the forms of the entryways and the middle support—doing as such in up to 30 distinct hues in blend with the discretionary surrounding lighting bundle. The level arrangement of the instrument board makes a feeling of roominess. The driver and front traveler are invited by the lit up entryway ledge trims that bear the RS 4 logo. Upon solicitation, the RS configuration bundle adds some shading to the inside, with the RS logo included
