The new BMW S 1000 RR - lighter, faster and easier to control.

Motorcycle lighter faster
The new BMW S 1000 RR sees its world premiere at EICMA 2018. With a completely new engine and suspension, the engine power increased by 6 kW (8 hp) to 152 kW (207 hp) (US: 151 kW (205) hp) and 208 to 197 kg (M Pack) With a weight reduction of 193.5 kg, the super sports bike, originally launched in 2009, is now entering the third completely new generation. In addition to improved performance, other focal points were to make the new RR at least a second faster than before, create a more user-friendly design, and offer maximum controllability and reliability. Whether for daily use, on winding roads, or for high-performance racetrack navigation - the new RR leaves nothing to be desired. In particular, BMW Motorrad is able to take aid systems such as traction and wheel control, ABS and Hill Start Control to a whole new level; The same applies to the LED lighting system and the large TFT display.

BMW ShiftCam Technology

New improved engine with BMW ShiftCam Technology for more power and higher power in the low and mid-engine speed range.

With its newly developed 4-cylinder in-line engine, the new RR, now 4 kg lighter than its predecessor, achieves a completely new level of performance. For this purpose, not only the geometry of the suction and exhaust ports has been further optimized, the motorcycle now comes with BMW ShiftCam Technology - a completely new technology that changes valve timing and valve strokes on the intake side for BMW engines. A revised entry gate and a new exhaust system, 1.3 kg lighter, also contribute to improved overall performance. The rationality and speed of driving benefit from a significantly increased torque over a wide engine speed range.
